Building the Resilient Athlete: It's Time We Do the Work.

AND you have probably heard that without addressing an athlete’s whole health they will not be able to perform at their highest level OR they may become injured or ill unnecessarily. I have been screaming it for years as often and as loud as I can because...


This is simply an undeniable truth.


I have built my career on helping professional and amateur athletes rehabilitate from injuries. Often these injuries could have been prevented.


Many athletes, coaches and teams may not buy into meditation, mental training and emotional regulation as being just as important as physical training. They buy into the doctrine that more is better and to succeed we must push ourselves to the brink every day. They would be wrong.


At this point there is far too much research and science to back up this truth. Our physical body responds to our thoughts, emotions and spiritual health in a physiological way.


Unfortunately, overtraining is now the norm. Listening to your body is something we all say, but most of us don’t know how to do it. We need to integrate the mind-body and spirit approach and train our athletes accordingly. The athletes, teams and coaches that truly understand and value this approach AND implement it will begin to stand out and pull away from their competitors. These athletes will be able to dig deeper and perform better without destroying their body.


The first steps are “easy”.


Be open to changing the way you do things.


Start noticing the patterns you have around your training and competition that are detrimental.


Learn how to slow down, recover and listen to your body.


I am going to write a series of blogs on to address the gaps I see, and I am building a program to fill these gaps over the next several months. If you are ready to be a trailblazer and begin this radical shift to addressing your whole health you can start now.


I have already launched a 7-day Pre Race meditation series and a 31 day meditation challenge. I am working on a meditation series for the injured athlete right now. Meditation is not all of it, but it is certainly a beginning. I know change is uncomfortable. Especially if you have been told and trained to do more, push harder, and beat yourself up for your entire career.


BUT you can do it and once you do you will never go back.
